When states expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, states save money (and lives!). We’re glad to share this recent data from the Kaiser Family Foundation: The effects of Medicaid expansion under the ACA: Updated Findings.
These findings are particularly important for Texas, since we have the highest percentage and greatest sheer numbers of uninsured, and so many low-wage jobs we have millions of working adults near poverty levels. A full expansion of Medicaid to working adults would create additional revenue streams for hospitals and health providers, spur consumer saving and spending, and save lives.
